Space Marine 2 is a board game that aims to convert videogame enthusiasts into Warhammer miniatures fans.

The Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 Recruit Edition Board Game will be available at approved Warhammer retailers on Saturday. It is "designed to introduce hobbyists to Warhammer and especially those who want to recreate battles from the latest videogame hit."

If you liked Space Marine 2, then this is your invitation for a full-fledged Warhammer lifestyle. Accept it at your peril: You might one day find yourself dedicating a part of your house to the painting of tiny guys that you just can't stop purchasing.

The game is designed to be played in 30 minute sessions and includes 12 minis: a Lieutenant Titus and 10 Tyranid termagants. A Ripper Swarm is also included. The game also includes five colors of paint and "a range starter tools and components" as well as a handbook.

Lieutenant Titus appears a little wobbly if you don't picture him charging forward with great force. The Warhammer proportions give the impression that he is a wobbly toddler. But I'm confident any such perceptions can be wiped away once you apply gold paint to his filigrees.
