Space Marine 2's 4K texture pack is bigger than the base game and requires some serious hardware.
"The Emperor provides!" "The Emperor provides!"
Installing the 4K texture pack is easy: Simply download it from Steam, or Epic, and restart your game. Before you click, there are a few things you should know.
This thing is HUGE. Space Marine 2 normally requires 75GB, but with the 4K texture package that number jumps to 160GB. The texture pack is larger than the entire game. It's actually bigger than several entire games from our list of PC's biggest storage hogs in 2021.
Second, it's going to take some serious power to make this worthwhile. The minimum system requirements for the 4K textures pack are higher than the recommended requirements for the base game. Dare to compare.

Early reviews on Steam suggest that Saber and Focus haven't been kidding. Some players with powerful machines say it's a beautiful game, but those with less power are having a hard time. I can't confirm it, but it reminds me that my personal rig has become increasingly potato-like. But some users have said that the 12GB VRAM recommended isn't enough and that 16 or even 24GB are needed if you want to run this game at full screamer.
If you don't like the performance, simply uninstall the texture pack and you'll be back to your original, still-pretty textures. If the performance isn't what you want, you can uninstall the texture packs and go back to the original but still very pretty textures.
Focus Entertainment said today that they are aware of complaints regarding the recent 4.0 patch and are "actively working" on a new one that includes balancing fixes that should be released next week.
