Stalker 2, the new game from Valve, requires 150GB of SSD storage. You have 9 days to decide where to put it.
Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl will be released in just a little over a week. This is a good opportunity to remind all of you Zone hunters that if your storage space is running low, it may be time to upgrade to a larger (and newer) SSD.
GSC Game World will eat up 150GB of storage, a huge number that was first revealed when Stalker's PC requirements were revealed. That was more than three-years ago, before Russia invaded Ukraine on a full scale without warning. This led to multiple delays.
The developers persisted, and now Stalker 2 is a real thing. You'll either have to make space on your hard drive or buy a decently-sized SSD. Yes, it's an SSD and not an old spinning disc: If you are anything like me, you may have plenty of hard drive space, but once you experience the speed of an SSD you won't want to go back.
You're in the right place if you need a new drive for your Ukrainian adventure. We've compiled a comprehensive list of the best SSDs to use for gaming. If budget is an issue, we have multiple 1TB options available for under $100. We are also keeping a close eye on Black Friday which is a frenzy of deals and labor violations.
You can either spend some money on the problem, or uninstall games that you haven't played since 2022. (Perhaps it's time to say goodbye to Elden Ring?) You may now consider yourself warned: Stalker needs space. Manage your PCs accordingly.
Here's a quick refresher on Stalker 2's full system requirements. They haven't changed since then (yes, I checked).
