Look at what we have. This 14-inch super-portable laptop has an RTX-4070, an eight-core AMD processor with 16 threads, 32 GB DDR5 memory and an OLED display. This is a lot of hardware in an extremely light and sleek package. In our review we gave the Zephyrus a score 90, which is not something that happens very often.

We put gaming laptops through their paces when we review them, and only the strongest survive. Jacob, who knows gaming laptops like no one else, gave this Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 a 90-point rating in his review.

I can't imagine a better recommendation.

Best Buy has this little laptop listed as the best 14" gaming laptop in its best gaming laptop guide. You can get one for $1700 right now. This might seem like a lot of money for a small laptop, but you're getting a set components that will blow your mind, all wrapped up in a chassis which feels miles ahead of its competition.

Let's start with the star of this machine, its 14-inch 120 Hz OLED display. It has a fantastic color and contrast. The slightly larger 16:10 ratio means that, even at such a small size, you don't feel constrained by screen real estate. It's stunning in person and it shows off its best features when playing games. However, you could also use it to watch a movie during a flight.

You'll get excellent performance from your hardware when it comes to games. The RTX-4070 has a TGP limit of 90 W, which is lower than the 140 W found in some laptops (usually larger ones), but it will still perform better than an RTX-4060. This means that you can pump plenty of pixels into your display.

The Zephyrus G14 uses the AMD Ryzen 9 8-core, 16 thread AMD Ryzen 8945HS. It can get hot when pushed, but it has plenty of power for gaming and productivity tasks on the move. The 32 GB LPDDR5X-6400 is also a generous amount.

It's just as well, since it's soldered onto the board. There is no RAM upgradeability, but the specs are such that you don't really need to. The memory is fast and there's enough of it.

Downsides? One TB is a bit meager, but that's standard. We'd love to see more gaming laptops come with 2 TB drives, but 1TB is fine if you don't do a lot of massive installs. It's upgradeable unlike RAM, so you can always find a great deal on a 2-TB SSD to give yourself a little breathing room.

Let's talk about the chassis. The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 feels and looks like a premium product, thanks to a milled aluminum frame that would look at home in any professional setting. With the 14-inch screen, you have a gaming laptop with a great look that doesn't shout "gamer". It feels and looks like a serious piece of kit.

It also delivers on the hardware. It's the best 14" laptop we've ever reviewed, and at this price it's a real bargain.
