" data-widget-type="deal" data-render-type="editorial">I've been looking for a new gaming keyboard for some time now, and last month, I finally decided on the Razer viper ultimate. I'm not going to be an influencer and say "sorry to all who bought the viral gaming mice before they went on sale, because...," etc. But I bought mine in September for $95 on what I thought was an excellent sale. It's now $20 less.

PCG's Hardware Nuts swear by the wireless Logitech Pro X Superlight (which is on sale as part of Prime Day), but I found it to be just a little too large in my hands. I didn't want to go down to a small mouse, so Viper Ultimate was the perfect mouse for me.
The Viper Ultimate is no longer on our list of best gaming mice because it has been around for a few more years and there are newer models. In our review of the 2019 Razer Viper Ultimate, we gave it an 89% rating and said that "it is light, ambidextrous and feels good in your hand. It tracks your movements just as well as a wireless unit."
I'll leave hardware details to the experts and tell you about the lifestyle. I wanted to move away from the Steelseries Aerox cheese grater I'd used for a few years and get back to a wireless lifestyle.
The Viper Ultimate is the mouse I need to keep my design in check as I get older. It still has the RGB Razer logo, but you can turn it off in the Razer Synapse application--I did. Speaking of being demure, it's a great relief to have a mouse that's not too loud when I'm searching for information in the middle a PC Gamer Chat Log recording. Silence is gold.
The charging stand is the last thing I will mention. The last wireless mouse I owned was the Steelseries Sensei Wireless, which came with a large charging base. The dock on the Viper Ultimate is very small and has two contact points. This is more in line with my desk space. It also has a little bit of RGB on the bottom of the base, which will subtly let you know how much battery life your mouse has left without having to open up the Synapse application to check it.
You can't say that it doesn't look clean and cute.
