The upcoming Sims competitor, inZOI, will get full mod support at launch and a surprise demo of character creation much sooner.

In 2024, we still have a shockingly small number of games that could be considered direct competitors to The Sims. InZOI, the successor to Life by You, is the next contender to take on the life-sim scene. I'm growing more and more interested in it, especially now that the developer has confirmed official mod support through a partnership With Overwolf.

Curseforge is owned by this company. It's arguably the largest repository for add-ons, mods and other content. It has been the go to app for games such as World of Warcraft and Minecraft for a while, and also houses over 50,000 mods of The Sims 4 Overwolf will be helping Krafton to find modders to create content in the lead-up to the release of the game sometime this year.

Hyungjun Kim, producer and director of the game, stated in a press release: "inZOI encourages easier mod creation and artistic expressionism from players." We are partnering with CurseForge to provide a dedicated platform to inZOI mods. This will ensure that our community is equipped with the best tools and resources for bringing their creative visions into reality.

It appears that Krafton wants to create a community that is similar to The Sims. I would argue that The Sims has been sustained by its players and modders for years. InZOI's decision to create a similar community is a good one. It's a great way to expand the game's content. (I mean, which Sims player does not have 100GB+ of pretty clothes and furniture?) It can be done without a lot of direct involvement and can do wonders to the game's longevity.

It seems that partnering with someone who is experienced in hosting mods would be the best way to encourage people to share their work. I have high hopes that inZOI will take off, with a community of creatives at its core.

The developer hasn't just locked up this inZOI piece of news. I admit that I was unsure about the art style of the game, but Krafton has released a small demo which will allow me to see it first-hand. This should help me change my mind. On August 21, there will be a character-creation demo that offers over 250 customisation choices. I am veryexcited. It won't be available for long as it will only be available until August 25, 9 PM PT, and August 26, 12 AM ET/ 5 AM BST.
