This open-source tool updates DLSS in all your games to the latest version at once, regardless of the launcher.

If you play many games, you are probably familiar with the concept that multiple launchers can clutter up your system tray, and fragment your gaming experience. If you own an Nvidia GPU, you will also be familiarized with DLSS. Each version of this upscaling technology is (usually) better than its predecessor.

Until now, you had to either rely on the games to update themselves to the newest DLSS DLL using one of these launchers or manually edit the DLL files to ensure that you were using the most recent version.

Redditor i-Deco created a more convenient way to do this. The DLSS updater tool allows "pseudo automatic upgrades" across launchers and games, to keep your DLSS up-to-date. It also has a one-click feature to apply the latest Nvidia tech to all detected game.

The current version of this tool supports games installed through Steam, EA Ubisoft Epic Games GOG and Battle.net. It will ask you for the installation directories of certain launchers. Once it has the correct information, it will scan the game directories to replace any outdated DLSS DLLs.

To be honest, swapping out a DLSS is not a difficult task. It's usually as simple as downloading the newest DLL and manually replacing it in the root directory of your game directory. It can be a hassle to find each of your game folders, and then check the version. I imagine that most people will just wait for an official update, if one comes.

It's true that programs like DLSS Swapper are able to drop in the newest version of DLSS. However, you still have to update each game manually. Automation is a good thing, because nobody has time to do that.

The tool has a built-in whitelisting system that allows you to skip games with different requirements or unsupported games. As i-Deco notes, the tool should not draw the ire from anti-cheat software at least in theory,as Nvidia has signed the replacement DLL. They are also unaware of any anti-cheat programs that check DLSS versions. It is still best to tread with caution.

We also experienced mixed results during our testing. The program ran perfectly on my RTX 3080 laptop and Jacob's desktop. It even auto-detected a Blizzard folder without being pointed at it. My AMD desktop, however, refused to launch the tool for unknown reasons.

It's true that it won't update DLSS files on an AMD GPU-equipped computer, but I thought it would at the very least run. There are a number of reasons why this might not be possible. It also appears to have trouble recognizing game directories that are spread across multiple drives using a single launcher. This is a bit disappointing.

You may experience different results, and you are responsible for your own risk. It seems to work well when it does. Open source software can seem like the wild west at times, but this tool could save you a lot of time if you like to stay up to date.
