This Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Roguelike is better on PC than on Nintendo Switch, and there's a demo available right now.

In August, I was pleasantly surprised to find a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Roguelike on Nintendo Switch. I was even more pleased to learn that a PC version would be available soon. It's now available as a free Steam demo, and a quick look confirms that it's the best version of this great game.

Imagine Hades with four turtles, instead of a goth teenager. You can create all kinds of fun builds by combining elemental types such as "ooze", "ninja" and "utrom". Co-op is also available, which adds a nice touch to the formula. However, my solo playthrough was not lacking.

The PC version is sharper in the demo than it was on Switch. The crisp colours bring its comic-book-inspired art style to life a bit more. It seems to have smoothed out the rough edges that I experienced on Switch. Minor bugs, such as environmental objects not breaking, seem to be fixed.

I'm not certain how far you can go in the demo but it's a good offering. I've already beaten my first boss (of four), and have progressed to the second area. Both online and local cooperative play is included. The developer Super Evil Megacorp confirmed that the progress made in the demo would carry over into the full game.

Try it out for yourself. I think it's a lot cooler than what you'd expect for a licensed game--especially one that was originally designed for mobile. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a game to play on Steam Deck. It was great to play on the move on Switch. It's Steam Deck-verified, so it should be ready for you to go.

If you enjoy the demo, you can add the game to your wishlist on Steam. The full release is scheduled for November 6.
