This visual novel about hunting for supernatural oddities in urban settings will definitely appeal to the Persona crowd
Urban Myth Dissolution Center, with its intriguing name, has a style of animation, use of color, and typography which makes me pay attention immediately because, well, not every developer does this. This, along with the occult theme, makes me curious to see what this game has to offer in a world where modern fantasy juggernauts such as Persona are dominating the landscape.
Join forces with the psychic director of the Urban Myth Dissolution Center to solve a variety cases involving cursed artifacts, rental properties that have shady pasts, and dimensional anomalies. This occult adventure game is full of monstrous oddities, otherworldly planes and otherworldly creatures.
In Urban Myth Dissolution Center, you'll be the new investigator Azami fukurai. She will be investigating cases of supernatural importance across several episodic mysteries centered around urban myths that circulate the internet: your slendermans, and the like. Azami is responsible for the detective grunt work, such as collecting evidence and scouring social media posts, all in service of figuring out the mystery and dissolving it. Azami's ability in the job? Her glasses allowed her to "see other people's intentions and residual thoughts."
The psychedelic pixel-art is what draws many people, including me. The stuttering of the animation and the carefully selected palette of limited colours indicate an artistic ability that is above and beyond the usual videogames.
