Want to go to Boston, Massachusetts? CD Projekt is looking to hire people to help it test new products in its studio

CD Projekt is a Polish firm, but its success with The Witcher, and (eventually), Cyberpunk 2077, has led it to expand outside of Poland. Polaris, also known as The Witcher 4 is being developed in Warsaw while Orion, the Cyberpunk 2077 follow-up, is being produced in CD Projekt's Boston Studio. The Witcher spin-off game, codenamed Sirius at the moment, is being developed by CD Projekt's Boston studio, Molasses Flood.

It only makes sense, then, that the studio has now opened its in-house playtesting program to gamers in North America--specifically Boston. You can sign up to get an early look at CD Projekt's upcoming games if you live in Boston or are willing (on your own dime) to travel there.

There are some caveats: You must be at least 16-years-old, have a CD Projekt Account, and "love contemporary pop culture [and] videogames." You'll need to sign a document promising not to reveal the secret.

The FAQ for the playtesting program states: "If your gaming profile matches what we are looking for, we will reach out to you via email or phone to ask when you'll be available." "All playtests are scheduled at least a couple of days in advance."

CD Projekt doesn't specify what they're looking for in the "gamer profile," however, the signup form asks for a lot of information, including your age, occupation, if you're a professional gamer or streamer and if you're able to attend in-person test sessions (which is important for a program that involves in-person testing). It also asks about your gaming habits, such as how many games you play, which genres and platforms you prefer, and how much content you read or As mentioned in the post about X, you must also be not involved in game development at a professional level.

CD Projekt's playtesting program continues in Poland if you are there instead of here. (For me, Boston is a "there" as well). It's also possible that similar opportunities will come to Canada in the future: This announcement is specific to Boston, but the FAQ for playtesting says sessions are held "occasionally both in Boston and Vancouver."

The call for testers, even if you are not from Boston or don't intend to go there, is exciting because it is a concrete indication that the next Cyberpunk is nearing the point where it is at least testable in parts. It doesn't mean that we'll be able to get our hands on the game anytime soon. A more detailed breakdown of this program states that testing will include "elements from our games and services in various stages of development, or other resources (e.g. You could be asked to look at promotional materials or drafts. Who knows? Maybe 2025 is the year that we'll all see something.
