It's that time again. The Golden Joystick Awards are back to celebrate the best gaming moments from the last 365 days. There were over 12 million votes cast (a record) across 21 categories. Final Fantasy XVI star Ben Starr will be announcing the winners. Most exciting are the potential new Ben Starr memes.
The Golden Joystick Awards are scheduled to air on , November 21, at 8am PST/ 11am EST/ 4pm GMT/ 5pm CEST via any livestreaming platform. The show will be broadcast on YouTube, Twitch and Steam, Facebook and X as well as Future Games Show, GamesRadar and PC Gamer.
This year has been a very interesting one for games. It makes a show like this even more exciting. It's impossible to predict who will win the Ultimate Game of the year award, especially with the fierce competition in all the nominations. There are 125 games nominated in 21 categories. This means there is plenty to vote for.
Ben Starr's show will feature multiple guests, including Alex McKenna Alix Wilton-Regan Derek Siow Neil Newbon Patricia Summersett Samantha Beart. There are a lot of characters you can spend the evening with. This is not the complete list of special guests. The award show will also feature live musical performances of classic video game scores as well as music from the nominated video games by video game composers Mark Choi & Lucia La Rezza.
This year, the Golden Joystick Awards have also added a number of new categories. The Golden Joystick Awards will feature the debut of Best Indie Game – Self Published, Still Playing – PC & Console, and Still Playing – Mobile, along with more traditional categories such as Best Storytelling and Best Multiplayer Game. The first award will be given in the category of Best Game Adaptation. This year, we have seen some excellent contenders, including Fallout and Halo 2's second season.
