So much unadulterated fun.

And that's what Monday Night Combat is -- an enjoyable team based shooter, and for 1200 points ($15) it's hard to ask for much more than that.

It can be too easy to write something off merely as a combination of popular ideas, but Monday Night Combat handily outstrips the sum of its parts, presenting a fresh, fun take on class-based shooters. There are so many variables -- twelve players, numerous bots, turrets, unique map features -- that it's hard to imagine a match playing out the same way twice.

This is a game designer's game, one that cherry-picks ideas from gaming's contemporary landscape and melds them together into something at once fresh and familiar.

But even with the lack of variety, Monday Night Combat's two modes pack enough juice to make it our new favorite sport.

When it comes to gameplay, Monday Night Combat is pretty much perfect.

Monday Night Combat is a title to have if you love FPS in third person dedicated to multiplayer. There are some defects, such as the paucity of maps, but this is a game that knows how to enjoy immensely.

Monday Night Combat combat looks great and the design is very colorful with a humorous tone that creates a fun universe that you'll find yourself lost in.

As a whole, I highly recommend this game. It is a fun shooter that will certainly get you through to the next big release, and hopefully find a good following to keep matches going for months to come.

Overall, Monday Night Combat is yet another gem to arise from the Summer of Arcade promotion. The brilliant development of the game and the unique concept sets the bar for future Xbox Live Arcade titles. Even at 1200 Microsoft Points, this is a must purchase.

This is one of the best examples of downloadable content and how the digital experience can slingshot far past games sitting on store shelves.

Overall the frustration factor feels very low for a competitive shooter, yet at the same time it's very hardcore skill-based, so it can appeal to all skill levels. Even when we lost matches or got crappy kill/death ratios, we were still having fun, which can't be said for a lot of shooters out there.

Monday Night Combat doesn't offer a large variety of modes or maps, but all of the content being offered is focused and fun.

A clever mix of Team Fortress 2 and Tower Defence that is a lot more nuanced and inventive than it appears.

With only two modes, MNC is light on options. However, what's there is entertaining, addictive, and provides replayability in the form of earning cash to purchase custom classes.

While there is quite a bit of short-term fun here, I can't see it lasting with the less-dedicated players unless Uber takes advantage of their update system and provides a continuous flow of changes to keep things interesting.

An adeptly handled game. It's an exciting, occasionally thrilling online shooter with a genuinely engaging hook, and a clever hodgepodge of many pre-existing trends to boot.

Clever combat mechanics and diverse soldier classes make this third-person shooter addictive and entertaining.

It's lean, cheap, and focused, but it still offers a great multiplayer formula that feels like more than its component parts.

Team Fortress 2 addicts should definitely enjoy the very obvious similarities at work here, while the average gamer will probably appreciate the genuinely unique atmosphere that Monday Night Combat brings to the stage.
