Star Wars Outlaws receives a patch to make it more save-happy and less punishing when playing in stealth. It also stops NPCs from causing 10-car pileups caused by speeders.
I'm sure of one thing: Star Wars Outlaws' stealth is a mystery. Kay Vess is quick on the draw but not light on their feet. It was easy for her to accidentally attract the attention of a stormtrooper, and be sent back to the checkpoint of one of the game's weirdly archaic, insta-fail, stealth sections.
Good news for Force fans! Ubisoft released a patch that, among other features, should make stealth a little more forgiving.
Ubi has said that it "implemented stealth improvements to 'False flag' and other missions in order to give players greater flexibility in how to approach situations without the fear of failure".
The game also has "increased quest checkpoints", "improved auto-save options in open world hostile zones (Imperial Compounds, Faction Territories),". So if you miss a sneaky section, you shouldn't be losing too much progress.
You should know that those aren't all the changes. You can now report bugs using the new Bug Reporter. The difficulty of Wanted now scales according to your progress, NPCs in combat are said to be smarter now, and developers have fixed the so-called "issue" that NPC speeders would crash into each other. This doesn't seem like an issue. Ubi, I think you've just made the game even worse.
I haven't spent much time on Outlaws yet. Perhaps I'm waiting subconsciously for it to be released on Steam. It's a pretty popular game around here.
Star Wars Outlaws was also a big hit with my colleagues Robin Valentine and Fraser Brown. Morgan Park, a PCG writer, gave it a 73% rating, saying that it had its flaws but was still "some the most fun I've ever had with anything Star Wars."
I'm eagerly awaiting the day when I can play it properly.
