Valheim's latest patch reduces the difficulty in the notoriously treacherous Ashlands Biome

Valheim's latest patch focused on the Ashlands in order to fix a long list issues. This update has a few significant changes but the most important thing is that it will make the Ashlands more accessible.

Iron Gate announces in a blog that the Flametal mining has been improved, as well as the spawn rate of several enemies. "Hopefully, this makes your Ashlands experience even more enjoyable!" Iron Gate has tweaked the spawn rate for asksvins, twitchers and charred melees instead of making enemies more difficult to kill.

In all cases, the maximum spawned enemy, group size and spawn interval have been increased. This should give players some breathing room as they explore this hellish landscape.

"Good, I am glad they didn't ruin it," says one player. "These seem like small, reasonable tweaks that won't ruin the experience." I hope that it will work out in practice like that."

Some players had to lower the difficulty to keep up with the Ashlands' tough enemies. As changing the difficulty only adjusted hostile mobs' strength, it only made the spawn rate seem better because players were able to kill them faster. It didn't change the spawn rate, which was a major complaint with this biome. Another player says, "[The patch] does make it a little less relentless." "Yet, it should still feel like a step above the mistlands."

This patch will not only help players to deal with enemy mobs but also harvest resources. Magma fish will be easier to obtain now that hot fishing bait will draw their attention. "Magma Fish are back on menu boys," another helpfully points out. Flametal spires now drop at a higher rate (two to four per chunk). The animations of spires falling will no longer catch players up, making mining a bit safer. If you still have some spires left unattended, it's time to return to the Ashlands to make bank.

But not all improvements are good. Decreased spawns do mean lower drops, especially when you're farming voltures for eggs or meat. One player has suggested a more cost-effective way to farm volture eggs. "I find that the best, renewable, way to get volture egg is to run along with an abyssal spear. Voltures spawn farther out at sea, near the spires. If you kill them, they will drop their loot in the water. I throw the harpoon at spires to attract their attention so they will fly to me on land to kill them and take their loot.

This is a minor issue. This patch is a good one, as it fixes a lot of issues while keeping the tortuous land and its kick.
