The Kamala campaign will stream World of Warcraft to win over gamers tonight
Since its launch in August, the Kamala Harris Twitch Channel has broadcast rallies from Flint, Pittsburgh and Atlanta, among other locations. Wired reports that the channel is about to move a little further afield with a Tim Walz speech being broadcasted from Azeroth.
Preheat, a Twitch streamer who plays World of Warcraft while adding commentary, will accompany a live audio feed of Walz's speech in Arizona. Preheat is a guide writer for Wowhead and has more than 50,000 Twitch subscribers. Walz will not be playing WoW alongside Preheat. We won't know if he is a druid.
Why is this happening, um? It's all part of the Harris campaign plan to increase visibility among young men. This has included advertisements shown during sporting events, and on IGN. The Washington Post said that they are pushing for "the gamer's vote", which included a "Geeks & Nerds for Harris "fundraiser.
Donald Trump also has his own Twitch Channel, which was once banned by Twitch for violating their guidelines on hateful material. You shouldn't expect that channel to broadcast Guild Wars 2 gameplay in response, as Trump has previously blamed violent videogames.
