A Forbes 30-under-30-er who was involved in at least two Disco Elysium sequel studios has filed a lawsuit against the lead developer at a third to prevent him from working on a brand new game.

Argo Tuulik is the writer of Disco Elysium and co-founder Summer Eternal. He says he has been sued by Riaz Moula, founder of Longdue RPG Studio, for an injunction that prevents him from working on his new studio or promoting its work.

Tuulik wrote, "Got some new," on X. "[CoGrammar] has taken me to court on behalf of Longdue, Riaz Moola, and was granted an order against me that prevents me from working on Summer Eternal until April 2025." Moola founded CoGrammar, a company that teaches tech skills.

Tuulik claims that he received "baseless legal threat" from his former company, Disco Elysium Studio ZA/UM in collaboration with Moola. Tuulik wrote: "Today I learned that anonymous tips have been sent to the press insinuating conflict between me and [third Disco successor Dark Math]." "The Za/Moola - Riaz - UM alliance is behind my recent legal struggles and silence." Tuulik shared images of letters sent by ZA/UM, CoGRammar, and Moola-Riaz/UM alleging "Breach Of Contract, Breach Of Confidentiality and Copyright Infringement". The former also claimed "Serious Breach of Your Legal Obligations to the Company".

Tuulik, a writer for Disco Elysium, was, amongst other contributions, the primary creator of Cuno & the Hardy Boys. Tuulik was fired from ZA/UM after the cancellation of a standalone expansion to Disco Elysium in February. Tuulik, along with other developers from ZA/UM, claim that the project has been mismanaged. They also allege the project was skipped a preproduction period as is industry standard. Summer Eternal is the newest development co-op announced by Tuulik. It's one of the most exciting projects from the former Disco Dev operation.

Moola is a new character in the post-Disco Elysium saga. Moola, a Forbes 30-under-30 list alumnus, is the chairman and an investor of Longdue. This RPG studio is working on a Disco inspired game with former ZA/UM developers who are yet to be identified. Moola contacted me under a Dark Math Games address with a signature identifying him a co-founder. This added confusion to the story. Dark Math is yet another company that boasts former Disco Elysium developers working on a spiritual sequel to the beloved RPG. Dark Math's game, XXX Nightshift was announced on the same date as Longdue, Summer Eternal, and Summer Eternal.

It is unclear what exactly happened between all parties involved. However, the messy nature of the dispute reminds us of the conflict which shattered ZA/UM back in 2021. Last month, I outlined the "who's-who" of the five studios vying for Disco Elysium’s legacy and their respective chances to live up to this promise.
