Activision has announced the opening of a new studio, Elsewhere Entertainment. Unlike other support teams primarily working on Call of Duty, this new studio will focus on developing an entirely new franchise.
Here’s what we know about Elsewhere Entertainment:
✅ Their project is described as a "story-driven AAA franchise that will push the boundaries of the genre."
✅ The franchise is intended to "resonate far beyond games," implying it will be transmedia, extending beyond the realm of video games.
✅ The studio is based in Warsaw, Poland, with "additional resources in the USA."
✅ It already boasts a number of industry veterans who have previously worked on titles such as The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us, Uncharted, Far Cry, The Division, Destiny, and other AAA games.
✅ Elsewhere Entertainment has "full access to Activision's resources and tools."
✅ Activision will soon publish a list of job openings for Elsewhere. This is the publisher’s second studio in Poland; the first, Infinity Ward Poland, focuses on R&D alongside Infinity Ward.
There is currently no information on when to expect Elsewhere's project to be released.
