Infinity Nikki will be released next month in its full Genshin Impact dress-up glory
Infold Games, the developer of Genshin Impact's dress-up version, has announced the release date of Infinity Nikki.
The open-world fashion game will be available on PC, mobile and PlayStation 5 on December 5. I am very excited about this. It's a perfect intersection, hitting all the dress-up games I played as a child, but within an open world that includes platform puzzlers and exploring activities. I'm a Nikki maniac at this point. I've been playing the series since 2017.
Lauren Morton, a fellow cosy game lover (read: sicko), was also able to be convinced by the game's October Beta. She is now "convinced", that "dress-up" games are going mainstream.
Infold Games announced the launch of the game with a new trailer. It's a bit less fever-dream-ish than what it showed at Gamescom. There are more hints about the gameplay, such as fishing, creature capture, and other activities, along with an admittedly catchy theme song by Jessie J.
A sweet letter from Runhao Yao, the series producer, has also been posted on social media. It mentions that Infinity Nikki is being released at a special date. "Twelve year ago, today, we released the first game in our beloved Nikki Series, Nikki Up2U: A dressing story. Our fifth Nikki title is finally here.
Yao says that the first game "was created by just a few people", and Infinity Nikki has "more than a thousand people" at its helm. "Bringing this one-of-a kind' project to life was challenging, with a far greater complexity in development and administration than we ever imagined," Yao continued. "It was tough, but we made it through because of our determination." Our team has always believed that we could do anything. And because this was a Nikki Project, we were even motivated and inspired to pursue "infinity" with everything we had."
Infold Games has made a huge leap. Infold Games has taken a big step by bringing Infinity Nikki to consoles and PCs. The developer seems to have jumped up a few videogame levels by making it an open-world title, but based on what I saw in the beta, it did a great job.
