Media: Creative Assembly Developing Total War Game Set in the Star Wars Universe
The lineup of Star Wars games is about to expand yet again. According to the portal DualShockers, developers at Creative Assembly are working on several Total War projects, one of which is set in the Star Wars universe.
As mentioned in the report, the game, referred to as Total War: Star Wars, was one of three Total War games in development as of October 2023. Specific details about the upcoming Star Wars strategy game or the other two titles were not provided. However, it is speculated that the release of Total War: Star Wars could happen within the next couple of years, given that Total War games typically have annual releases.
Currently, Creative Assembly is also focused on a major update for Total War: Pharaoh. The game disappointed fans, prompting the team to promise improvements. In their latest post, CA confirmed plans to enlarge campaign maps and add more cultures.
Rumors about a Star Wars strategy game have been circulating since last year. Video Games Chronicle’s editor-in-chief, Andy Robinson, had previously reported that a renowned studio was working on the project. Now, Robinson has indirectly confirmed DualShockers' information, indicating that people can stop guessing which studio he was referring to.
There's no shortage of Star Wars interactive entertainment at the moment. In development are Star Wars Outlaws from Ubisoft, the third installment of Star Wars Jedi from Respawn, Star Wars: Eclipse from Quantic Dream, a Star Wars strategy game from Bit Reactor and Respawn, and more.
