Modders have made it possible to play Crazy Taxi in the role of Tim Walz.

As always, the US presidential election of this year has brought to light a level of scrutiny that was previously unknown. One person who has come out fairly well from it is the Democratic nominee for vice president, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. His biography is a folksy paean of public service and he also comes across as a real human being, rather than an Onion figure.

The deep dives into Walz's history revealed that he had a great love for consoles and was especially attached to the Sega Dreamcast, to the point where his wife hid it from him. Resetera user revealed that he had acquired the console after it was passed down by Walz. He also recalled the machine came with Crazy Taxi. Are ya ready? Here we are Walz thanks to a mod that brings the political everydayman into the original Crazy Taxi. Edward La Barbera read the articles about Walz's Dreamcast and thought it would make a good laugh.

"I read a news item on the gaming forum Resetera about Tim Walz having a Dreamcast. La Barbera told MPR News that rumor had it that his favorite game was Crazy Taxi. "I thought it would be a funny tribute, like Bill Clinton's appearance in the arcade game NBA Jam."

La Barbera spent a week working on the mod. What makes it great is the incorporation various Walz lines from his Democratic National Convention Speech. The character is especially fond of saying, "Is it weird?" Absolutely." The mod adds even more Minnesota flavour to map with a wintery revamp and the addition a new stop, which is, of course, a polling precinct. La Barbera says that she replaced palm trees with pines covered in snow, and changed Target Field to the Mall of America.

This modding gift has a ribbon because La Barbera decided to include current vice president and Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala, who also have various voice lines from her DNC speech. This mod could only be improved if you heard Harris ask "you think you fell out of a Coconut Tree?" at the beginning of the game. Then, immediately into the Offspring soundtrack. YA! YA! YA! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
