Next year, the FPS/mecha hybrid created by the creators of Cruelty Squad - an immersive game designed to make players feel sick - will be released.
Remember Cruelty Squad? Remember the dystopian assassin video game whose visuals, and especially its sounds, gave you a headache and made you feel like throwing up? If you're a glutton of this kind of punishment, Cruelty Squad creator Consumer Softproducts has more for you in 2025.
In Psycho Patrol R, you will be able to play as an officer in a "special unit tasked with preventing neural meltdowns and counter-psychohazards using cutting edge criminal frameworks." You can wear a mechsuit to escalate the situation, or you can walk around and talk to NPCs. It's a choose-your-own-path kind of thing.
You'll also be able customize your mech. Since Cruelty Squad allowed you to use your own stomach as a grappling tool, I expect that the upgrades will be quite twisted. Other features include "small arms to 120mm grenades and DNA sniffers", as well as "Unique NPCs that you can meet and interact with", along with the possibility of "solving the mystery of the Orgone."
Psycho Patrol R will be released in early access. It will have "one main quest line and many side quests. There are more than ten areas to explore and numerous items and guns." Over the next year, the game will be polished and added more quests, weapons and levels. On the Steam page, you can learn more about Psycho Patrol R.
