Prime Day is a great time to buy our favorite gaming mouse. It's only $50 and it's the best deal ever. Wait, isn't that wrong?

$79.99 Newegg: $49.99 (Save $30) The G502X keeps the same design as the G502, including the ergonomic shape, spinny scrollwheel and other features that people love. It's our opinion that it's the best gaming mouse available right now. And at this price, you should give it a try if you don't want to cut the cord yet.

A brilliant gaming mouse should not be underrated. You can get away with a generic brand for office work. But for gaming, you need the right model. The difference between the two is like night and day. We test potential candidates all year to make our list of best gaming mice.

The Logitech G502X reigns supreme in the category of best wired, and I just found it on sale for $50 at Newegg during this, errr, Amazon Prime Day. We told you that Amazon wasn't the only one to offer the best deals.

We loved it and still recommend it. The G502 has "impeccable ergonomic credentials," to quote Katie. It has a slightly skewed outer lip and a slightly skewed body, which means that your hand will be at the perfect angle for long days scrolling through spreadsheets or long nights pwning n00bs on Counter-Strike 2 - or whatever the kids call it these days.

Jeffing brizzies? It'll be like that, wont it? Let's move on quickly.

A gaming mouse with a plasticky, weedy click is like shaking hands after doing the dishes. The G502 X is equipped with Logitech's hybrid lightforce switches that have a nice resistance and positive click.

You can play with 11 customisable buttons, including an interchangeable button for the thumb and an endless scroll wheel. The scroll wheel is a plastic version and not the original (and sumptuous metal type), but it adds a silky smoothness to the scrolling action. It's a little jarring to switch back to the non-infinite wheels. Once you've been smooth, you can never...lose? It's hard to go back.

The RGB is missing, which is a little disappointing. However, you can get the wireless version with a glowy crack for $124, which sounds like an illness but looks really cool in person. The wireless version is more expensive, but it comes with some light-up cracks.

This mouse is the best wired squeaker I've seen. It's only $50 and well worth it. Gone are the days of your budget mouse that you found at the back of your sofa. Welcome to the luxurious world of G502X. The water is warm, don't you know?
