Space for Sale, the goofy builder and crafter, is about developing "prime real estate" on unexplored planets.

A new indie sends you into space to explore new planets, and then place little housing developments there. Space for Sale, a humorous take of the survival crafting base building game from Mirage Game Studios, is available now. You must explore and build little worlds in either a solo or two-player cooperative game by figuring out the best place to live, where the resources are and which locals are dangerous.

Your little space adventure is a comedy, but the dangerous locals can be a bit of turbulence. You may have to deal with plants that explode, monkeys that steal your food or even worse. But you must do it because you are tasked with finding useful resource sites for amenities.

Mirage Game Studios made Little Big Workshop a game in which you turn a garage manufacturing business into an entire fabrication factory for hire. This was published by HandyGames. Mirage, however, is self-publishing Space for Sale.

The developers have noted that the current early-access release is a little limited in terms of the breadth of things to do. Instead, they are focusing on the core gameplay. "We expect to add lots of content during the Early Access period, such as planets and biomes, new creatures, projects, and new clients. Beyond that, we expect to improve the balance of the game and polish the overall game," they said.

Space for Sale is explained in a short demo that's available now. You are plopped on a planet and asked to establish a few settlement centers. Then you bring in your colonists. You then have to find resources for your development sites while also scanning the local flora, fauna and crafting items. It's a little slow, but I found it charming--the strange aliens who move into your homes especially.

One of the little tenants had promised to kill me first when its species conquered the galaxy. It says, "You are a great realtor." Thanks buddy! I think!

Space for Sale is available on Steam for $20. It's 20% off until August 13th. The developers plan to keep it in Early Access at least for six months.
