The ambitious Project Mojave mod, which imagined New Vegas during the time of Fallout 4, has now ceased development after 3 years.

DSOGaming was the first to report that the Project Mojave Revitalization Team is quitting after its first release. PMR was the continuation of the ambitious Project Mojave Mod to bring areas from New Vegas in Fallout 4. The original PM developers themselves had hung up their spurs following an early access release.

Project Mojave should not be confused with Fallout 4 New Vegas, which is a project that aims to recreate the 2010 Obsidian classic using Fallout 4's shiny, upgraded Creation engine. Project Mojave's goal was to show New Vegas in the Fallout 4 era and after the ending of FNV. This was a tall order, given the many endings of the game. However, PM seems to be predicated on a NCR victory. Project Mojave was not updated after November 2021. The PMR devs led by WolfeMan2077 continued the project as a separate one, requiring the installation of Project Mojave.

PMR's only release, "Fremont," is a time-lapse version of Freeside that has become the capital for a new NCR State in the Mojave. The original Project Mojave released included about a quarter of New Vegas map, focusing mainly on the interior of Strip and some areas east of it.

The PMR description said that WolfeMan2077 was the "former PMR project lead". In his Nexus bio he describes himself as "the former PMR project lead". So it looks like this is the end for Project Mojave. At least until some hungry modders take up the mantle of Project Mojave: Revitalized.

Bethesda's total conversions are a road to hell. Many of them die quietly, like Morroblivion. It is playable from start to finish but has bugs and has not been fully tested. The host game, Morrowind, is almost as retro as the converted game. The much-anticipated Fallout: The Frontier was released, but it was heavily criticized due to the poor quality of the writing and the predatory nature one of its writers.

The Fallout: London developers seem to have mostly pulled off their massive undertaking. Morrowind’s Tamriel Rebuilt has become a bit of a tradition, slowly and surely adding more of Tamriel’s mainland to the RPG from 2002 over the past 20 years. Skybliviion is a professional-caliber remake TES4: Oblivion and has a large, well-organized staff to do so. Vampire: the Masquerade: Reawakened is my favorite. It started as a remake 2000 VtM RPG Redemption but has now become its own game after facing legal challenges. Modder cc9cii is a cool outlier, as he's working on getting many of the Gamebryo-Creation titles working with the open-source OpenMW engine.

As of November 2024, it appears that Fallout 4: New Vegas is still in active development. I'm happy with the original (plus a few mod-fixes) game. You could also move to Goodsprings and live the New Vegas lifestyle.
