The First Berserker Khazan's angry anime Conan is shown in a new Gamescom Trailer

Nexon released a new cinematic trailer and gameplay for The First Berserker : Khazan today at Gamescom's Opening Night Live. The action RPG features soul-like combat in the Dungeon & Fighter universe.

The First Berserker Khazan is about revenge. Khazan, originally a raid opponent in Dungeon Fighter Online is reimagined as a kind of anime Conan in The First Berserker. Barbarian-turned-general of the Pell Los empire and slayer of the dragon Hismar, Khazan begins The First Berserker having been betrayed by imperial conspirators after committing the cardinal sin of being too cool and popular. Khazan was banished from the snowy hinterlands after a jealous emperor accused him of treason. The snowy hinterlands is the perfect place for your vengeful enemies to transform themselves into unkillable protagonists in videogames.

Khazan, in his revenge quest, apparently makes a terrible pact with the "Blade Phantom" which, judging from the visuals alone, seems to allow him to enliven his weapons with his own blood. Or is it something else? It's a great skill to have if you want to settle a score with an entire empire. Thanks to the cool cel-shaded style of The First Berserker, it looks sick.

The fantasy berserker has been mastered by developer Neople. Khazan is a human battering-ram who uses simple, direct movements to fight. It's a great visual match with The First Berserker, whose combat is soul-like and whose pace is similar to Bloodborne.

The First Berserker Khazan's first playable demo will also be at Gamescom. The rest of us have to wait for a few more months to get a chance to play it: there will be a closed beta test in October for The First Berserker Khazan.

The first Berserker: Khazan will be released in 2025.
