The last thing I thought this cute racoon game would be about was sick BMX trick

When I saw a cute Studio Ghibli-style raccoon put on his mailman's cap at the Tokyo Games Show, it was not what I expected. He then pulled out a BMX to perform some sick tricks. Tanuki Pon's Summer by Denkiworks gave me exactly that, and guess what? I'm ready for it.

Denkiworks describes the game as "a love-letter to Japan." The world was inspired by the time that the developers spent in places such as Kyoto, Aomori and Sapporo. The trailer has me hooked with its warm, painterly appeal and two-wheeled scares. Our adorable raccoon can be seen performing all sorts of terrifying moves, including spinning, flipping and grinding rails. He still manages to keep his parcels neatly stacked at the front.

It doesn't seem like I'm limited to delivering mail with my furry companion. I saw baseball and fishing in the trailer along with rushing to a restaurant to deliver dishes. You can even build a shrine with the money you earn from running your various errands. I hope to find out how a little panda can have so much time. I would be in bed after a long day of delivering people's mail.

I love the reverse Animal Crossing aspect of it - being a small animal in a village of humans instead of the other way round - and I'm a sucker of anything cosy and cozy. Although there is no release date, I am already looking forward to the day when I can grind down stairs and bunny-hop my way between homes.
