MSI's 4K gaming OLED segment has always been appealing. How so? Price. It's the cheapest at $899.

There's always a catch. You can't really buy the MSI MAG 321UPX. It's almost always sold out. Now you can get it for $899 from Newegg.

I reviewed this monitor in May. I did review the MSI MAG 321URX which is identical to this monitor, except for its USB-C interface and 90 W power delivery. This 321UPX (note the "P", second from the last letter, where the other model is an "R") model only delivers 15 W via its USB-C interface.

The QD-OLED panel is the same, despite the small differences. It's not perfect. It's warm in colour balance, like all monitors that use the Samsung QDOLED panel technology. The quantum dot technology and lack of polarising filters means that in bright conditions the panel will reflect some ambient light, making blacks look grey.

As with any OLED monitor there is always the risk of burn-in, but you are covered under a three year warranty.

It's hard to believe that there is a monitor on the market with such a combination of crisp 4K pixel density, OLED-powered HDR, perfect contrast, per-pixel illumination, and an outrageously fast response rate. This is the monitor you've been looking for - a high-end gaming panel and a fantastic workstation in one.

In terms of full-screen brightness, this latest QD/OLED panel technology from Samsung is superior to the first OLED displays with LG WOLED panels. The full-screen SDR pop at 250 nits is acceptable, but not excellent. It's less of a problem than you think in most desktop computing scenarios. It's not a big deal in games.

Last but not least, you're going to need a powerful GPU to keep the 4K pixel grid running at 240 Hz. You knew that going in. This is still a rare beast, even at $899 plus a fast graphics cards. It's still by far the best 4K OLED for the money.
