The US government is to blame for the one-day delay in the new MMO created by RuneScape's creator.

Brighter Shores, a new MMO developed by RuneScape creator Andrew Gower, and his brother Paul has been delayed. Instead of being released into early access as planned on November 5, it will now arrive on November 6. It's not a long wait, but it is funny.

Gower wrote: "We have decided that we will launch Brighter Shores on the 6th November, as there is an election on the 5th," Gower on X. "Who knew?!"

Andrew, I'd say that's pretty much everyone. For those who still read newspapers and magazines, there have been ads, signs, and other information about it. It's everywhere. I'm not American and I know. We knew.

Andrew didn't know, but it's okay. Andrew has other things on his brain, and I'm not joking. Making an MMO is a big deal. Brighter Shores, like its predecessor RuneScape, has been in development for over 10 years. It will offer more than just fighting. Fighting is definitely part of the game, but players can also choose from "a large number" professions, including chef, forager, woodcutter and miner, as well as alchemists, stonemasons, merchants, blacksmiths, and more.

Brighter Shores will launch in early access, and therefore, it will lack some key features. The most notable of these is PvP combat. The game's Steam page describes all the features, but they are already there. It is "fully playable" and has "hundreds of hours of gameplay." There will be no save reset after early access ends.

Steam's page states that "Even when the game leaves Early Access, we plan to update it regularly with new episodes, quests, professions, and new content." "This isn’t a game that we expect to ever be 'finished.'"

It must begin (or end, depending on the case) before it can be completed. This will happen on November 6, a day after the big November event. Mark it on your calendar just in case.
