This 1440p OLED Monitor is a great way to get a next generation display at a price you can afford. It also runs on a standard GPU.

OLED gaming monitors are available for those with GPUs that do not exceed 80 or 90. It's a stretch for me to say that this is a people's champion display, but I'm seriously considering buying it on a game reporter's salary.

Updated Black Friday Monitor Deals has seriously tempted to upgrade my display. None of them have gotten me more excited than the MSI 271QRX, which is 25% off on Amazon. That's $600 off a list price that was $800.

I have an RTX3070 and even though the 50-series is on the horizon (and hopefully a more impactful AMD counterpart), I am still a mid-tier user at this stage. I still play on a CRT monitor with a resolution of 1280x960 sometimes. If they made 1080p displays in a reasonable size I would be the first to buy one.

We live in a fallen universe, so 1440p is the lowest I can go to experience God's OLED technology. This is the display standard of tomorrow. OLED offers more vibrant colors and blacker blacks, which I haven't seen in a long time, not even since the days of the bulky CRTs that I still love. It's a more appealing advancement than simply packing more pixels on a panel.

Even aside from my purely theoretical recommendation--channeling my desire for a setup upgrade in this off-cadence year for hardware into a deal highlight--the MPG 271QRX has some more tangible bona fides you can trust your money with. Jeremy Laird, a contributor to the site, gave the monitor 85% in his review. His main complaint was the price compared to other 1440p LCD panels. This high review score also earned the MPG 271QRX as our 1440p recommended OLED gaming monitor a place on our list of best OLED gaming displays.

If you're a 4K skeptic like me, but still love OLED displays, then it might be worth buying the MPG 271QRX now that it's on discount. If this deal falls through before you can make a decision, the Alienware AW2725DF is a strong runner-up. The Alienware, which can be purchased through Dell's site, has almost identical specs and received the same 85% score as the MSI. It's only $100 more expensive with its own Black Friday sale. The Alienware is still cheaper than the MPG 271QRX, which has an MSRP of $800. It's worth your attention.
