This $7,000 Shark PC is a terrible value but it's 1) wicked and 2) good for real sharks

I'll admit, I'm sick of gimmicks. I don't like to see gold-plated Xboxes that nobody will buy, or phones with jewels the size of modest homes. Cooler Master's newest creation is something that I can support, even if it costs a lot.

The Cooler Master Shark X, a $7,000 PC (you won't believe it) looks like a giant shark. The Cooler Master Shark X is available for order on their website, and will be shipped later this year. The shark is positioned up, as if swimming towards the top of the ocean, and measures 89.4cm tall.

If you want to know what kind of performance this machine can offer, it comes with an Intel Core i7 14700F processor, GeForce RTX Super GPU, 64 GB DDR5 RAM and 2 TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 storage. All of this is to say that it's an extremely capable gaming rig, which should also function very well as a productivity tool.

As you would expect, the shark component of this rig costs a few thousand extra dollars, as shown by this machine with a similar specification at $2,500 (and hey, this one is on sale!). This machine is comparable, but it has less RAM. However, its chip is slightly better and it comes with significantly greater storage. If you clicked on the shark computer to view it, you must accept that you will have to pay more for this type of build. They are as much a piece of art as they are machines. This work of art is a great way to support a good cause.

The Shark X is a part of a program called "Blue Initiative Program", which uses recycled seashell foam for packaging and "eco-friendly" materials in the machine. The website doesn't specify how this is done, but it says that this initiative "actively supports and collaborates with dedicated organizations" by supporting "research and conservation projects and initiatives".

Strangely, on the Cooler Master site, it says that the design was created by Inony, a Thai designer, but then states it was "inspired by the remarkable evolution in artificial intelligence as it reaches it's peak". I don't think I got anything more from this than "sharks look cool", but inspiration can come anywhere.
