This Black Friday SSD deal allows me to install 692 GB RPGs for under $100.
It's time for another Black Friday SSD deal. I hope it will help me survive yet another year of the never-ending battle between the file sizes of my favorite PC games and the available storage space. This year, I'm looking with dread at my game library drive as I add up the nearly 700GB of games I really wanted to play over the holiday. In the past, I would have looked at a 512GB hard drive and counted my pennies. This year, I think I can score a new NVMe that is roomy for under $100.

Tell me if this is your dilemma: I played Baldur's gate 3 for 80 hours last year, but only got to act two. At some point in the year, I had to uninstall the game to make space for newer titles. Last year, I sacrificed Red Dead Redemption 2 to make room for Diablo 4. It turns out that I really enjoy big games.
Now I'm trying to figure out which drive is going to fail. I have a lot of games that I want to play during the holiday break. If I reinstall Baldur's gate 3 to finish the playthrough, RDR2 to finally play this campaign instead of wasting time in RDO, Elden Ring (which also I haven't beaten), and then throw in Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth, that I haven't played yet, Metaphor ReFantazio, that everyone tells me is amazing, Dragon's Dogma 2 which I barely touched in march, and Path of Exile 2 next week, I'm
If I wanted to, all of that could fit on a single 1TB drive. Our favorite WD Black SN850X is currently on sale for $80. This is a great way to start a new PC build and have room to expand your library. You can also add it as a secondary hard drive and transfer your game library to it.
The truth is, I already have a 1TB drive with 672 GB worth of games and a 512 GB boot drive. If I wanted a drive large enough to hold my entire library, I would have to buy the 2TB version for $44 extra. It's also at a steeper discount. You'll save $66 instead of the $14 you save on the 1TB.
Will I have time to play all these games during the short holiday break, even after I spend a whole day waiting for them to install? Who died, and you became the one responsible? My delusions are as long-lasting as the discounts.
