This Death Metal action RPG is based on the stylish tabletop game Mork Borg
Mork Borg, the tabletop RPG, is now coming to videogames. You can expect it to be similar to Dark Souls and Scandinavian metal. The project was announced via a new YouTube trailer and will be funded through a Kickstarter campaign.
Heresy Supreme is a "sidescrolling, semi procedural grimdark fantasy" world where players will be doomed travellers trying to stop the apocalypse or make it worse. The first trailer shows a slow, methodical battle based on quick dodges and thrusts. There are also some magic attacks that take a long time to charge.
[youtube=]The tabletop roleplaying game Mork Borg is a big hit in recent years. It's a stylish, modern graphic design that's also a fun, rules-light game. The books are as much art as they are rules, which appeals to many tabletop gamers who have a collector mentality. Even if you don't play Mork Borg it is a joy to own.
Heresy Supreme seems to be incorporating some of the interesting tabletop elements, particularly the idea that you are a "foul spirit" who is metaphysically rotting and physically decaying. As you level up, some abilities will get worse. Morbidware developers say that the more you level up, "the higher the chance you will lose something."
At various points, there will be skill checks similar to those found in RPGs.
Each character has four abilities: Strength, Agility Presence and Toughness. These determine your chances of survival. They influence mechanics and interactions between characters, enemies, and the world. Some encounters, choices, and events require you to modify a d20 by your ability. You should never put your life into the hands of a dice roll. The developers say that's why the game is called die roll.
Mork Borg Heresy Supreme is available on the Morbidware site, on Steam and on Kickstarter.
