This week's Humble Choice has a lot of good stuff: Darktide Persona 4 and more

It's a good time to consider Humble Choice if you were planning on doing it in November 2024. This month's Humble Choice gives you keys for Warhammer 40k: Darktide. Persona 4 Golden. The Lamplighter's League. Cassette Beasts. The Bookwalker: The Thief of Tales. KarmaZoo. Hexarchy. and Garden Life.

Darktide is the best time to play it yet, as the four-pack co-op game has revamped its weapon system and added new features to customize. It also increased player agency. Darktide won our Best Ongoing Game award in 2023 after a rocky launch in 2022 that received an 80% rating.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have the all-time favorite JRPG Persona 4. It's a title that I will continue to play for the rest my life. Chris Schilling, the writer of 87% Persona 4 Gold review, said that "this JRPG favourite has aged like fine malt." It's hard to disagree. If you dislike this game, you likely dislike most of the genre.

The Lamplighter’s League is a turn-based stealthy tactic game that has seen disappointing sales, but is a fun pulp-flavored romp in a mix of occult worlds and technological ones. We called it one of eight underappreciated 2023 games that we believe deserve more players. That still holds true today. Hexarchy is a roguelike Civilization-style card-counting game.

There's more to it! Cassette beasts is a co-op remix of Pokemon that has more strategy than you'd expect. You can also play the surreal adventure The Bookwalker. I'll point you to Ted Litchfields impressions for an idea why it's so cool.
