Kai Cenat, a mega streamer, is streaming Bloodborne in order to draw attention to the demand from fans for a PC port. 'PlayStation and FromSoft, this game is one of most requested for a PC remaster'
Kai Cenat, the streaming star who has been a huge fan of Elden Ring for a while and even pulled off a monster stream of Shadow of the Erdtree in which a professional therapist helped him with his difficulty with the final boss is now checking out the rest of FromSoftware’s back catalogue. Cenat's not just playing Bloodborne, the 2015 PS4 exclusive for his own enjoyment. He hopes his streams will help draw attention to the need for a PC port and/or remaster.
Cenat replied to a question in a chat about his ability to make it happen, "I don't believe I have the power to achieve that." Chito Gaming, a content creator, shared the clip to X "The Everything App". "But I have the power to draw attention to a particular topic within the Souls Community.
I feel like developers are watching my every move while playing these games. The least I can do is push the narrative to make something happen.
Cenat addressed the relevant rights owners directly: "PlayStation and FromSoft, it is one of the games that has been requested the most for a PC version and a remaster. I haven't touched it. "Just by me entering this community, i want to go ahead, and be like, 'Hey can you please do anything?'"
FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki told PC Gamer senior Editor Wes Fenlon that many of the studio's employees wanted to see a PC version of Bloodborne. He joked, "If I said I wanted one, I would get in trouble. But it's not something I'm against."
Even after nine years, I still consider Elden Ring, a 19th century monster hunting action-RPG, to be my favorite FromSoft game. Even after all these nine years, the PS4 version is still stuck at 30fps. This is despite not having any performance or resolution bumps from Pro and PS5 hardware. I have to admit, though: Talk of Bloodborne remasters always makes me nervous. I don't like Bluepoint's Demon's Souls art style, and the idea that something like this is how Bloodborne makes it to PC seems like a classic "monkey's paw" situation. Now, what about a resolution bump and a high-fps "remaster"? I'd be happy to support that.
It will be interesting to see how Sony responds to the demand of Bloodborne for PC. Cenat's efforts to bring Bloodborne back into the spotlight are appreciated, and I wish Cenat luck with his first Bloodborne experience. I wonder how difficult Bloodborne's toughest fights will be after you've gone through the trials of Shadow of the Erdtree.
