Frostpunk 2 developers celebrate 350,000 copies selling, covering the production and marketing cost

Frostpunk 2's release last week was a bit slow, but this isn’t a reflection of the game for long. Developers 11 bit studios celebrate a milestone of 350,000 sales just four days later.

Frostpunk 2 confirms on Twitter that they have sold over 350,000 copies. "What's even more, the estimated total sales revenue has already paid for the costs we spent in producing and marketing the title."

It's a great achievement, and one that deserves to be celebrated. But some fans aren't letting 11 bit Studios rest. One player responds, "Congratulations." "Since Frostpunk 3 is coming, when?"

It's still early for the developers to confirm a new venture into Frostpunk, but they seem interested. Frostpunk 2’s Twitter account replied to the comment above by using a GTA San Andreas “Here we go Again” meme. This isn't a greenlight, but it will still give me hope for the future.

Frostpunk 2 has also been ranked high on several Steam charts. It is currently ranked second in the new and trending charts (somehow behind a dark comedy anime visual novel), as well as fifth in the top sellers.

According to SteamDB, the original Frostpunk set a concurrent player record of 29361 six-and-a-half years ago. The sequel did not surpass this achievement immediately. Frostpunk 2 has reached its all-time high of 35,533 concurrent players over the weekend.

"Big, Big Thank You to All of You for Your Support!" Frostpunk's Twitter continued, "It (almost) melts the frozen-solid hearts of our players." "The work does not stop here. We are constantly working to improve your experience with hotfixes, patches, and your valuable feedback here."

The developers are still working to fix any small bugs that may arise. A day after the release, 11 bit studios acknowledged some players were experiencing audio crackling and CPU throttle issues and came up a temporary solution: "We've created a separate branch called "whiteout" so you can enjoy your time in frostland over the weekend."
