Insider: Rockstar Games Cancels Plans for GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption Remasters

Insider Tez2, known for accurate information about Rockstar Games' unannounced projects, has reported that the company has canceled its plans to release remasters of Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto IV. All work on both projects has currently ceased, meaning they will not be released in the near future.

This decision may have been influenced by the disastrous launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. Although it sold well initially, it received extremely negative feedback from fans due to numerous bugs and controversial visuals.

The insider speculated that external teams were working on the remasters of GTA IV and RDR. Therefore, their development might have been halted to transfer the projects to more experienced studios. However, it is unclear when this transfer will take place and how much time the developers will need to rework the remasters.
