Post Malone will have his own Hunt: Showdown Season where he portrays a cursed circus master

In an interview with Crytek, Post Malone revealed that his favorite FPS was Hunt: Showdown 1996. He said that he had played the game for 400 hours since discovering it this year. We now know what Malone and Crytek were building towards: a new series of Hunt called Post Malone’s Murder Circus.

The collaboration sounds different from when Fortnite put John Cena in the spotlight. Malone plays a character called the Deposed King in Hunt, who is "lord over the circus and its human oddities." Crytek calls this the largest Hunt event yet. The circus is stopping in the Bayou and Gulch.

The Murder Circus brings a new monster to Hunt, beyond the star power: the Ursa Mortis. This is "orphaned cubs that have been turned into an unnatural beast." Crytek did not specifically refer to Ursa Mortis being a boss or a wild target. It is therefore likely that this is a brand new type of mob. This would make it the first mob added in over three years.

In a short teaser trailer we get our first glimpse at the Ursa Mortis. A multi-headed homunculus I hope to never again see up close.

Season 2 will also include new skins and weapons variants. Crytek's weapons are becoming increasingly difficult to predict. Some variants are simple, like scopes on guns without them before, while others include bludgeons attached to stocks, complex mechanisms for reloading, or a crossbow that can revive teammates.

There is no date set yet for Past Malone's Murder Circus. Since the last event has ended, the game is currently in limbo without battle passes. A good guess would be early December.
