This amazing Stardew Valley Lego built won an award and received a surprise from ConcernedApe
Stardew Valley and Lego builders share a similar level of dedication in executing a vision. Stardew Valley players are known for creating farm layouts that are both beautiful and efficient. It's therefore no surprise that someone built Pelican town in Lego. PC Gamer reported that the feat took two years to complete.
Steve Jensen posted photos of the build in progress on the Stardew Valley forum last year and brought it to the Lego fan exhibition BrickCon2024 last weekend. It's a build with a lot of detail that covers everything in Pelican town, from the player's farmhouse to JojaMart, the forest to the beach. It has a giant "Stardew Valley' title screen at the back. You can view the entire build above or watch this video by Beyond The Brick which zooms in and out on different parts.

Jensen's favorite parts of the construction are a few. "One of my favorites is the Hat Shop because I was able make it almost entirely hollow so you can see through the cracks and damaged parts and see more openings on the opposite side. As a rundown and abandoned structure would.
"Another favorite is the wizard's castle." I was able get the shape I wanted including a peaked front door, vines growing up both sides, the cone-shaped blue roof, everything!"
I can't help but zoom in on all of the little details, like the pink cart, Pam's car, and all the machinery that comes out of Clint’s workshop. Jensen also shared photos showing all the characters. The elevation changes might be my favorite part. This isn't a flat map. It starts from the lowest point of the beach, and then builds up to the mountains and mountain pass at the back.
It is amazing how familiar this was with Stardew valley, but also specific Lego sets. I noticed Jensen mentioning which Lego sets certain pieces were from. For example, the leaves on Stardew Valley's main sign, which was from a relatively recent Lego set last year.
Jensen's build was awarded the "People's Choice Award" at the convention. Stardew Valley's creator, Eric "ConcernedApe", Barone, made a surprise visit. Jensen said on the forums that this is "even bigger news than an award." There's an adorable photo of them posing in front of the 75,000-piece Pelican Town.
Jensen plans to share more information about the individual buildings on Instagram.
