CD Projekt RED, along with its developers, firmly supports the philosophy of creating games for their quality rather than for profit alone. In an interview with RPS, CEO Marcin Iwiński reaffirmed the company's commitment to this principle, emphasizing that their primary focus is always on the game itself, not the money.
"In any case, if a project is worthy of attention, it almost always recoups its costs and generates profit. That's why our team prioritizes the game over the money," Iwiński stated. He further added, "This is, I believe, the hallmark of our studio. Players purchase our products because they trust us completely, and we will do everything to meet their expectations in the future."
During the interview, it was also revealed that all expansions for the PC version of The Witcher 3 will be free.
"It’s a bit early to talk about it, but all updates and expansions for the third part will certainly be free." Iwiński continued, "Regarding next-generation consoles, it’s hard to say definitively as these platforms have a completely different business model. But we will strive to implement the same approach across all platforms."
