This 1440p panel provides a high resolution and rapid refresh rate, making it a powerful PC gaming combo. However, the built-in WiFi antenna makes it stand out. ASRock gaming monitors are not just cheap, they are also good. They often combine two factors that are rarely combined in one monitor, cheap and good.

Amazon and other major retailers often have deals on gaming monitors. You'd be forgiven if you thought that Amazon, with its October Prime Day (called Big Deals Day for reasons this year), would be offering the best deals on gaming monitors.

  • Here's a list of all the October Prime Day PC Gaming deals!

Newegg is selling this 27-inch 1440p, 165 Hz beast for just $157. I can think about gaming mice that cost more, but you get a really fast little panel for less than you would pay for a fancy meal for two. It's a very expensive dinner for two.

I've already given away the game by mentioning its headline specs, haven’t I? It's 27 inches in size, has a 1440p screen resolution, and a refresh rate of 165 Hz. Think about this combination for a moment. Isn't it beautifully balanced as all great things are supposed to be?

It's not the biggest panel in the world but you don't have to go for something massive to enjoy a great gaming experience. It's not quite 4K but it is still a lot better than 1080p. While 165 Hz isn't going to bother 240 Hz or higher mega-esports displays, it will be more than enough for most gamers.

Plus, you get a built-in Wi-Fi antenna. This is a very useful extra feature, especially when it comes to gaming monitors. Most of them give you a useless extra, such as a logo projector that faces downwards or a cable wrapping that's worse than what you already have.

You get two HDMI 2.0 ports and one DisplayPort1.4. It's a good amount, but not as much as some. With a 165 Hz refresh, FreeSync Premium should make things run smoothly.

What's the catch, then? DisplayHDR 400, however, is not HDR as you might think. And, of course, this is a VA-panel, so there is always the chance of some contrast smearing during fast-paced action.

But for the money? I don't see much to be unhappy about. It's a great little monitor that has great specs at a price less than a keyboard. I think it should be on the desk of anyone who wants a great gaming screen for not much money. Even though we're currently searching for the best Prime Day deals on monitors, this little monitor stands out.
