Amazon's October Prime Day has finally arrived. technicallystarts on Tuesday, October 8th, and runs through Wednesday, October 9th. But as with all big sales, the deals start flowing much earlier. Dell's G16 gaming laptop is available for $1,300, beating Amazon to the punch.

It's not only Amazon that drops prices on Prime Day. This Dell is a great deal for the specs it offers. It has a 1600p, 240 Hz, IPS display which is unbeatable at this price.

  • Here's a list of all the October Prime Day PC Gaming deals!

You can find 1080p screens with ultra-fast laptops for the same price, but the resolution difference here is noticeable even on a 16" panel. You'll want to get as many pixels in this machine as possible. It has a 140 W TGP Mobile RTX 4070. This is a GPU that's got real muscle, and it comes with all the DLSS 3 benefits an Nvidia card from the 40-series can offer.

CPU-wise? What about the Core i9-13900HX? A 24 core, 32 thread mobile processor paired with 16 GB DDR5? It's not the fastest memory at 4800 MT/s and frustratingly, it's only a single stick, which means that you're only getting half the bandwidth as a dual-channel kit. It's still a good amount of RAM for a gaming notebook. Plus, you can upgrade it cheaply with a kit like this Silicon Power DDR5 32 GB (2x16 GB) for only $73.

You'll also get a 1 TB NVMe Gen 4 drive and a cool "Quantum White Metallic Nightshade". Now we're onto the looks, and this is where the super-specced Dell falls down a bit. This machine is not svelte. The bottom deck is choky and the angular design is accentuated by a large rear lip.

It's not particularly portable, either, if I am being honest. All that space in the chassis and the junk in the trunk should mean it can move some serious aer over that big processor--although I'd wager that like most modern gaming notebooks, it will still wind up those fans.

For $1,300, you get a monstrous mobile processor, a powerful graphics card, and a fast, vibrant display. We're collecting the best Prime Day gaming deals for you to peruse, but this one is hard to beat for the price.
