Secret Level is turning 15 games into animated videos, but we're curious if it's really Keanu Reeves driving a mech.

In the midst of all the video games trailers at Gamescom Opening Night Live, one gem appeared out of the blue: Secret Level, a series of adult animated films by the creators Love, Death + Robots.

The trailer featured a lot of video game characters and settings, but it appears that only 15 games will be featured. Each one will have a different story for a single episode. The list of games includes: Armored Core (Armored Core), Concord, Crossfire (Crossfire), Dungeons and Dragons, Exodus (Honor of Kings), Mega Man, New World Aeternum: Aeternum, Pac-Man for PlayStation, Spelunky for Spelunky, The Outer Worlds for Unreal Tournament, Warhammer 40K, and Sifu.

It's an odd list, as I'm unsure what the theme is. Other than the need for more advertising, it's not clear to me. Even without a theme, PlayStation's inclusion is still a bit of a surprise, as it won't be a game but "highlighting various PlayStation Studios loved entities," according a press release. I'm not certain what constitutes an "entity," however, if it means that we get an Astro-themed animated short I'll be happy.

Love, Death + Robot was a great show. While there were some misses, the majority of episodes were excellent. My personal favorite is Season 1's Secret War. I thought this short would make a great video game. Even though the list is a bit of a mishmash, I am confident that Blur Studio will be able to create something amazing.

The teaser trailer we saw at Opening Night Live was pretty spectacular. It was also cool to see each world animated slightly differently. The scene that has fans frothing, however, only lasted a few seconds and appears to be Keanu reeves driving an Armored Core.

While it's not yet confirmed that this is Reeves, the character does seem to morph into Reeves' lookalike. Armored Core tweeted an image which resembles Reeves.

Unfortunately, the anthology premieres on December 10, 2024. We'll have a little longer to wait to find out if Reeves will be expanding his video game portfolio beyond Cyberpunk 2077 and The Matrix Reawakens.

There were many other exciting announcements besides Secret Level. These included more details about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and a new standalone Dying Light, as well as a substantial chunk of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 campaign.
